The rising star maintains considerable social media audience
Kai Trump can count on plenty of prominent cheerleaders as she begins her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, received a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, operates numerous golf courses and often plays against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we play tight competitions," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who won't be present, told her: "Simply stay calm."
"He basically advised me to play and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's just an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with world affairs, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has played in a mere three competitions this year and maintains position 461 in AJGA standings.
But she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, romantically involved with Vanessa.
"He represents the best player globally," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's a more impressive person. He told me to go out there, enjoy myself, following the flow."
Kai will face several most prominent players in women's golf at the competition, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Officials commented that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to different demographics, specifically reaching the next generation.
The young star has a massive following and recently launched her own apparel and wellness brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
