President Trump Invites Relatives of Shot Military Soldiers to White House

Former President Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the executive mansion.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Details on the Devastating Event

Specialist Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The president stated he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both soldiers of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize Sarah,” Trump addressed journalists. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Support

Community members assembled over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both they had been serving with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support public safety in the capital.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that teachers hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” Hankins, the leader of her former high school, told the media. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Government Revisions

Officials have accused a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and two counts of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event prompted the Trump administration to pause refugee claims and temporarily stop providing entry permits to holders of Afghan passports.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, according to the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s leader Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general told Fox News Sunday that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with excellence, according to the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor told the gathering at the service. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
