Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with schooling – truly monumental. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate teenagers against Reform.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
