I cannot rely on a three-year period at Manchester United - Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim

The Manchester United coach - seen receiving consolation post May's Europa League final defeat - states he is happy by Sir Jim Ratcliffe's continued commitment but underscored that what lies ahead is unknown in football.

United's manager the Portuguese coach feels it's significant Sir Jim Ratcliffe publicly shared his long-term thoughts - but says nothing is certain about tomorrow in football, much less three full years.

Through a conversation with a leading newspaper last week, Ratcliffe stated it might require the head coach three seasons to make a significant impact at United's home ground.

Arriving during a time when Amorim's future has been receiving close inspection after a prolonged run of disappointing results, the words contributed to reducing certain present tensions.

But, speaking before the centenary clash with traditional foes Liverpool at Anfield, Amorim stressed that tomorrow is difficult to forecast in the beautiful game.

"It is really good to receive that message but he communicates to me continuously, occasionally through communication post fixtures - but you know, I'm aware and Ratcliffe understands, that soccer doesn't work that way," he commented.

"The crucial element is the following fixture. Regardless of investors, you cannot control the next day in football."

Top executive the club executive has conceded it has required far longer for the manager to acclimate to the top division subsequent to his appointment from Sporting Lisbon last November than anyone imagined.

The Red Devils have secured 10 victories in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They haven't managed two league games in a row and have not ended a round of league games this season higher than ninth.

The dire statistics are stretching belief in the manager among the United fanbase entering a run of games their team has struggled during for the past two seasons.

The manager stated he isn't experiencing the doubt inside the club at their training facility and is insistent nothing equals the expectation he puts on the squad - and in some senses, he would choose Sir Jim to avoid attempting to bring a sense of calm because he fears the influence it may create on the squad.

"It isn't merely a thing that people talk about, I sense it every day," he said. "It's certainly beneficial to hear it because it assists our supporters to understand the leadership realize it needs a while.

"But at the same moment, I don't like it because it creates an impression that we possess time to solve problems. I don't desire that feeling in our team.

"The stress I put on the players or on myself is significantly greater [compared to external sources]. In football, specifically at large organizations, you must demonstrate your value every weekend."
