Alarming Video Shows Moment Officers Get Knifed in Unexpected Assault

One ranking policeman who rushed to the assistance of a colleague who was ambushed by a blade-wielder has been awarded the Royal Recognition for Courage.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he placed a weapon to the throat of his fellow officer Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a motorist after a traffic accident in the area in summer 2023.

Brown stabbed and slashed both Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft stopped him with a stun gun.

"Officer attacked," the officer was heard to say over his communication device.

Bodyworn and vehicle camera footage shared by the agency depicted Brown, wearing in black with a hood covering head, run up to Sgt Foster from the rear with a weapon outstretched.

He ran into the policeman who tripped and went down to the pavement, before Sergeant Ansell stepped in and tried to wrestle him to the ground even though being repeatedly struck with the blade.

Police Constable Wolstencroft drew his Taser and awaited a open target, ending the confrontation to an conclusion.

Sergeant Ansell stated audibly: "I need assistance on my throat here, I got knifed in the neck."

Sgt Ansell suffered multiple open wounds to his neck and additional wounds to his arms and torso, while Sgt Foster received cut injuries.

The department stated Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to control his colleague's bleeding before medical personnel came.

This most recent recognition comes after the law enforcement team won internal Courage Honors in fall 2023 and the police federation award from the area officer association in April 2024.

They further earned a Area Valor Recognition in summer 2024.

"The responses of the entire team eventually saved themselves and resulted in no members of the public experienced any harm."

Brown was given to an secure medical confinement in early 2024, according to authorities.
